Winter
I walk in the snow
My hands turn to ice,
This walking is slow
I've only stumbled twice.
On a puddle I tread
It gives out a crack,
I assumed it was dead
And did not look back.
But I can't see ahead
For all the smog,
Air filled with dread
And deadly fog.
But for me there's no home
Nowhere to be warm,
No Queen on her throne
Or shelter from the storm.
I can't feel my body below
My breath is coming fast,
I feel my heart slow
And release the breath of my last.
My hands turn to ice,
This walking is slow
I've only stumbled twice.
On a puddle I tread
It gives out a crack,
I assumed it was dead
And did not look back.
But I can't see ahead
For all the smog,
Air filled with dread
And deadly fog.
But for me there's no home
Nowhere to be warm,
No Queen on her throne
Or shelter from the storm.
I can't feel my body below
My breath is coming fast,
I feel my heart slow
And release the breath of my last.
